How To make Grilled Almond Barfi (Sugar Free)? | Instant Grilled Almond Barfi (Sugar Free) Recipe
Grilled almond barfi is a popular Indian dessert that is made with almond flour and sweetened with natural sweeteners like dates, jaggery or honey. This version of the recipe is sugar-free and uses jaggery as the sweetener.
Here is the list of step to make Grilled Almond Barfi (Sugar Free) at home
Ingredients
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup jaggery powder
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
Instructions:
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee on medium heat. Once the ghee is melted, add the almond flour and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma.
- Add the jaggery powder and milk to the pan, and stir until the jaggery is completely melted and mixed with the almond flour. Keep stirring for another 5-7 minutes until the mixture comes together and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Add the cardamom and nutmeg powders to the mixture and mix well.
- Grease a square baking dish with some ghee, and pour the mixture into the dish. Spread the mixture evenly using a spatula.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds and chopped pistachios on top of the mixture and press them gently into the mixture using the spatula.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the almonds and pistachios turn golden brown.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature.
- Once the mixture is cooled, cut it into small squares or diamond shapes using a sharp knife.
- Serve the grilled almond barfi as a dessert or a sweet snack. You can store the leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Tips
- You can use any natural sweetener of your choice like honey or dates instead of jaggery.
- Make sure to constantly stir the almond flour mixture while sautéing to prevent it from burning.
- You can also add some shredded coconut or ground cashews to the mixture to enhance the flavor.
- If you don’t have an oven, you can also grill the almond barfi on a stove-top griddle or a non-stick pan. Simply cook it on low heat, flipping it occasionally, until the almonds and pistachios turn golden brown.
