Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup oil or ghee
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Water, as needed
- Butter or ghee, for serving
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and red chilli powder. Mix well.
- Add the yogurt, oil or ghee, sugar, and chopped coriander leaves to the bowl. Mix well.
- Add water as needed to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat a tandoor or oven to 250°C.
- Divide the dough into small balls.
- Take one ball and roll it out into a circle of about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Place the rolled-out naan on a baking tray or tandoor and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the naan puffs up.
- Remove the naan from the tandoor or oven and place it on a clean surface.
- Crush the naan with your hands to create a chur chur texture.
- Brush the naan with butter or ghee and serve hot with your favourite curry.
